Lincoln Team - GIX Logistics

Lincoln Team

We’re a big dysfunctional family (only we can leave at five o’clock)

Navigating in this industry requires a team that can quickly adapt to our ever-changing industry. It also takes an intuitive understanding of what we do on a daily basis to make things happen. We thrive in a team environment, where we challenge each other to keep pushing forward. We understand egos won’t move the market – our hard work will.

Take a minute to enjoy the people that make up the GIX family. It’s a family composed of preps, hipsters, dweebs, bikers, dog-lovers, parents, athletes, and a lot more. We’ve composed an interesting set of people that keep our work interesting and lives less boring. You could say we’re pretty damn cool.

Sales Team

Mitch Spencer Senior Sales Representative 308-398-8598 866‐453‐9770

Meet Mitch, a down-home Nebraska guy with ranching roots and salesman dreams. Mitch grew up on a ranch in western Nebraska in the small town of Brewster where he learned the ins and outs of ranching from his dad. After graduating in the Summer of 2018 from UNK with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and Marketing, Mitch took a unique opportunity to work with the Sporting KC professional soccer team. Although he enjoyed the team and the work, he felt a strong pull to get back to Nebraska and landed himself a position on the sales team at GIX. He is a self admittedly very competitive, whether he is playing Madden on his Xbox, or pick-up basketball games at the YMCA. There is no doubt that his competitive spirit and love for sports makes him a great fit for our Sales Team.

Most Likely To… Heard cattle on the weekends.

Lebron James, I’m more of a cattle person but I don’t mind GOAT’s

Would you let Oprah slap you across the face?

As long as there is a new car under my chair afterwards, yes.

Biggest Pet Peeve?

That I can’t make my mustache a handlebar mustache.

What is one thing GIX could do to make your day easier?

A tap room would be nice.

Customer Relations Team

Jack Burmeister Customer Relations Manager 308-398-9573 866‐453‐9770

Fun fact about Jack, his name isn’t actually Jack, it’s Jon. However, since his full name is Jon Burmeister II, he's always gone by Jack because his dad was Jon as well, and two Jon's in one house is confusing. I mean, "Jon can you take out the trash?" could really confuse who is supposed to do what chores! Jack calls Omaha, NE home, but attended UNL for college. He graduated in December of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During college he has spent his free-time working at Target and that is where his interest in logistics and supply chain was born. We stumbled upon Jack at a practice interview session at UNL and were excited to offer him (and have him accept) a summer internship position with us during the summer of 2019. After having him here all summer, we knew he was someone we'd like to bring on full-time and he headed back for his last semester of college at UNL with a full-time sales role offer from us. As you might have guessed, he accepted and started full-time in January of 2020. Since starting, he has transitioned into another new role in our customer service department, woof, 2020 has been full of surprises and new opportunities!  He is hardworking, dedicated, and brings a fun and positive outlook to the office.

Most likely to have two first names.

Favorite Sports Team and Why?

Currently the Cleveland Browns, but honestly, I’m just a huge fan of Baker Mayfield.

If the world was about to end you would…?

Eat Cane’s one last time.

What was your first impression of GIX?

This office is SO cool. I never imagined I would be interviewing and working in an office that had a cornhole game setup and a ping pong table.

How passionate are you about chicken nuggets?

I could eat them every day, 100%.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Professional Golfer

Celebrity you get mistaken for?

I went as Matt Stafford for Halloween once. Honestly, I still get people asking for my autograph.

Support Team

Dalton Zelenka Pricing Manager 3083989592 866‐453‐9770

Dalton is a born and raised Nebraska kid, and he plans to keep it that way, unless of course GIX opens an office in Eugene, OR. Why Eugene, OR you ask? Well it turns out Dalton is a HUGE Oregon Ducks fan. He has always loved the Ducks and wouldn’t mind being closer to take in their events and cheer them on in person instead of through the T.V. screen. “Win, Lose, or Tie, I’m a Duck until I die” – Direct quote from Dalton Zelenka. As a 2019 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Dalton is new to the world of GIX, but is adjusting well. While he might feel like ‘the new kid that is not an intern’, we are confident that once he gets through his training he will be an asset to our Pricing and Rating team. To be honest, I wish I had a dollar for every time someone in the office has asked me how old Dalton is because they think he looks so young. He isn’t shocked to hear this as it’s a question he’s been getting for a while now. I think his answer to our question below sums it up perfectly; Q: If you were a mixed drink, what would you be? A: Vodka Lemonade, because I’m technically an adult, but still feel like a kid.

Most likely to be mistaken for a 12-year-old.

What do you bring to the table?

Salt. I put salt on everything.

What do you love about GIX?

All of the T.V.’s, I can’t wait for March Madness.

What is something interesting about you?

I can run 28.2 miles without walking. I ran a marathon and accidentally ran two extra miles because no one stopped me.

How long have you been dating / in a relationship with GIX?

It will be a month on July 4thand I think it’s going pretty good. We’re planning on lighting off fireworks to celebrate our 1-month anniversary.

Celebrity you get mistaken for?

I haven’t been mistaken for a celebrity yet, but during a high school track meet, my teammates said a girl from another town looked jus like me, so I don’t know if that counts or not.

Biggest pet peeve?

When someone touches my arm with their arm and especially when its skin on skin.
